Description
Olympic athletes make tremendous sacrifices in terms of time, money, and effort, to compete. One of the unfortunate consequences of America's boycott in 1980 is that athletes were not permitted to compete. As well, many people believe that politics should be irrelevant to the Olympics. This book chronicles the anger and frustration felt by American athletes who were unable to compete in 1980. Carter's decision to boycott angered many athletes, disappointed many more, and brought sport and politics together in a way that made many Americans uncomfortable.
